If you do have a chance to try it, I would welcome your thoughts on whether it's readable on the 505. I am going to buy the 505 or 700 by the end of the month, and the main worry I have about the 505 is that the page turns will be too excruciatingly slow when skimming something like the NY Times' 1400 pages. Videos of the 700 show quick page turning and fast-forwarding (a feature that the 505 lacks). While videos of the 505 page turns look kinda slow for skimming a newspaper.

EDIT: On my touchscreen PC, I often navigate through the NY Times using the hyperlinks (Back to main, back to section, etc.). I don't know if it's possible to select these hyperlinks via button presses on the 505. It that is possible somehow, then quick skimming of a newspaper might be possible using the hyperlinks, if page turn speed makes sequential skimming intolerable.

Unofrtunatly Kindle has stoped free NowNow service that helped me in my information research. In my last days of use I found my self not using Kindle wireless less and less. I do have Iphone.

The service was not that grate, and it was not a good replacement for the browser.

Right now I am in line for Kindle2 but more then likely it will be placed on ebay the moment I have gotten it. I am moving to Sony 700, it seems that this machine would be capable of reading Cyrilic text that is pain in behind to do on Kindle (envolves creating azw file base of images)

I hadn't heard that Kindle was stopping any of the free services associated with the Kindle original release. I had been wary about that possibility but had been pooh-poohed by Kindle fans as something Amazon would never do -- start charging for services that had originally been touted as free. I wonder when Amazon will start charging for wireless access to buy books? That "almost everywhere" wireless access can't be cheap for them to pay for.

That they will not do. The model for the Kindle is that the price of the book includes wireless delivery. And, providing wireless access to the store gains them revenue... pressing "buy" at the end of a sample book is probably their biggest source of ebook sales.

However, they may start charging for the "experimental" stuff. Basically the web browser at this point.

At least, the above has always been there stated plans.

I have no idea what they pay... but I'm sure it is much less than you expect. They are probable set up as an MVNO with Sprint and pay wholesale rates. And I guess the MORE they use the less they pay for it. It would be no where what each Kindle users would have to pay if they contracted with Sprint themselves.

Also, with the problems Sprint is having, they don't want to risk loosing this revenue.
