I had a Voyage, but it was never my favorite. The ergonomics were wrong for me, it was not comfortable to hold. I sold it years ago.

I didn't like the material nor the lump on the Oasis 2. Very awkward to hold compared to Libra models.

I have always kept my Oasis in a ACdream Folio case which has a flat back so the lump is not at all noticeable. Fintie still offers a very similar Folio case for the Oasis on Amazon.

Well, everyone holds their ereader in a different way. The lump didn't bother me. Narrow bezels, OTOH, make it impossible for me to hold a device comfortably.

The Voyage also has about the same physical size as the last 6" Paperwhite. All the Kobo readers with page press buttons I have seen are considerably larger than the Voyage. For travel generally speaking the more compact the better.

That's because they're 7" or 8''. There is no 6'' Kobo reader with buttons, and never has been.

Colorsoft and 2024 Paperwhite do have a feature to double tap on side or back to advance page or scroll up library listing. It's like one big page turn button.

I retain a Kindle Touch in the event newer devices get some update to defeat removing DRM. But it's awful to read on, and while I liked Voyage better than that (obviously) I like my current Kindles better than it.

I don't like having to move my hands just to get to the next page. Whether it's swiping or tapping, using the screen as the page turn control is (IMO) a very bad idea.

Double tap on the Colorsoft and 2024 Paperwhite does not require touching the screen if all you want to do is to advance pages. It just takes one finger to move, not your whole hand. Some people cannot get the hang of it but I use it most of the time.

Even with page turn buttons you gotta touch the screen to do anything else. Nobody makes anything without a touch screen.

And of course there are those clip on bluetooth remote page turners that don't even require holding the device.

Could you expand on this? The only Kindle I knew of that had non-visible buttons was the Voyage. I don't see how it's possible to use the touch screen control to advance the page without touching the screen.

Oh! That's really interesting. Recent Kindles have a motion sensor and can detect a light double-tap anywhere on the kindle.

That does make a new Kindle a more attractive proposition, if/when my Oasis 3 dies.

Thanks!

My trusty Kindle 4 has a dying battery, and I'm having trouble finding a replacement. I guess that EU is having some bans on battery imports, or something. Whatever I order from various Chinese sites, gets cancelled, or it doesn't arrive.

I need to find a solution. I like this buddy, we've been to some place.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CGVDK845/ Looks like it ships from the UK. Perhaps there's a similar supplier who ship from inside the EU?
