Or someone found a big inventory of 16G chips already in the factory and then when they are used up it will be 32 G or 64G.

Better than those fake capacity Flash drives that are supposed to be 32, 64 (and claim it on the partition), whatever and are only 8 or 16 in reality.

There's a scam going on on YouTube where you can get a Sandisk SSD with 32TB and a 1GB transfer rate external drive. When you go to the site, the pictures do not have the Sandisk logo like it does in the video and the price is way too low for a 32TB SSD drive which doesn't exist.

It's interesting that they do not have ad-supported model that sells for $20 less or whatever. Perhaps we can hope they are abandoning this 'feature'?

All of the "premium" Kindles don't have the ad-supported option. Scribe, Signature Edition Paperwhites and Colorsoft, Oasis in the past. It's interesting that the regular Paperwhite equivalent Colorsoft doesn't have an ad-supported option. I wonder if it's because the Kindle ads would need to be in color. Has anyone bothered to look if that is the case?

I don't see the CSSE in the header list. It does show in the "Shop all Kindle" from that list under the "Open a World of Color" header, but just below that is the "Get to Know Kindle" header and it is missing from there. It is in the hamburger menu, though.

This is the same kind of "here but not there" that was happening when they discontinued the Oasis. I'm sure different teams handle different parts of the Amazon site/pages and they aren't all coordinated to update their changes at the same time.

Yes, when I went back and looked again it is there.

I don’t think that’s a great deal with all you are giving up for only $30 less. I paid $229 for my CSSE in January when it was on sale.

A bit of a laugh here. If you go by the dropdown for the Kindle ereader models, it does not show the 32GB Colorsoft SE. You have search for it or use the feature comparison table on the Colorsoft 16GB.

I see the new color kindle is only 30 bucks cheaper than the signature edition. If I wanted color, I'd probably just go signature. Had they put one out for 199, maybe.

When it came out I followed the customer reviews on Amazon. It hovered around ~ 2.9-3.0 it seemed like. I just checked and the average is up to around 3.5. Sorted by most recent reviews, the incidence of yellowing of the screen seem notionally less, so maybe they've made some improvements, but there are still some 1 star reviews even recently. For comparison, the paperwhite signature has a solid 4.6 rating in customer reviews.

Yeah, I don't get it either. The Colorsoft SE was more expensive than the Kobo Libra Color but at least has some unique things about it like wireless charging and auto light sensor that some people might care about. The non-SE just seems worse in almost all ways and is still more expensive for some reason. Only reasons to pick it are if you must go Kindle or absolutely detest the presence of page turn buttons.

What hasn't been mentioned here about this yet:

1. In addition to Canada, Colorsoft has now launched in Australia and Japan. It was previously unavailable in these countries.
2. The existence of a 16GB Colorsoft SKU was already known, as it had been previously announced for the Brazil region.

Can we discuss how bloody awful the coloursoft kindle kids cases are. The pw5 ones were so cool, in fact i still have one of them (good old days when adults could use them ad-free). I don’t know with certainty if it is the case, but they look AI generated, and so are the product shots, Amazon can no longer afford a professional photographer and illustrator?
