The most important issue about Inkpad 4 is that it is slow. Contrast is good (on mine device because I also read some different opinion). Of course Pocketbook doesn't offer the feature of font sharpening but You can easily install Koreader on it. With Koreader it is not so slow, it take a few to open the book but then it is acceptably fast.

Pocketbooks, all of them, are VERY expensive for many living in areas that Pocketbook doesn't sell to either directly or through an authorised reseller. Feature for feature, the "bang for bucks" equation is emphatically NOT in Pocketbook's favour here in Aotearoa for example, and I suspect it may be similar (albeit possibly less extreme) next door in Australia.

They are now in the U.S. Not long ago Verse Pros were selling for $159 (less when on sale) and the regular Verses was selling for $109 on Amazon (via PocketBook's own store when on sale). Now the Verse Pro is up to $185 and the Verse is $139. I don't know if it's the new tariffs or what, but yeah — way too high of a price to be competitive, although it looks like Kobo's prices are jumping up also, on Amazon at least.

The Verse Pro is my daily e-reader device and my experience is that KoReader is far more battery hungry on it (between 2-3 times the battery drain in any given reading session) than either the in-built reader or the old CoolReader fork for Pocketbook.
