Additionally the last place I'd think to look for a tool to remove empty directories from a Kobo eReader is an quality check utility!

Looking at how many odd places I've found functions in various programs that, at best, non-obvious? Look at calibre. Want to create a catalog, right click on a book and look under Convert. Looking at the help, the original intent of that function was to clean up directories without an ebook format present after using send to disk with an ereader.
