Did one the day before yesterday - my first. All went well.

I'm a US-based reader, the book was a recent release and I submitted the price match just a couple minutes after clicking on the 'buy' button on Kobo. I received a notification that I was credited for the difference about 6 hours later.

I bought a book three days ago for £2.99. Today it's a Kindle Daily Deal at £0.99. I'm trying a price match to see what happens (the page says up to seven days). I've only ever price matched before when the cheaper price was available on the same day I bough the ebook.

So am I correct in thinking that Kobo would not price-match the latter two books of the Three-Body Problem trilogy that are on sale on Amazon today?

Kobo should price match those 2 eBooks. The only time the price match failed is if the listed shows a red -% off at the price.

Amazon says the discount is from the print list price and not the digital list price, so you should be able to price match them (based on what others have said in this thread).

I also think the Three Body Problem discounts are eligible for a price match.

You can ask for a price match, and if they disagree, you can ask to ask to cancel your order.
Just be sure to not download the books through any devices, apps, or websites until the price match is approved.

I've never seen a digital list price discount in the UK.

I mentioned this because it was a price match where the drop in price at Amazon happened a couple of days after I bought the book at Kobo.

Ah, I missed that it was in the UK.

I think the UK store just never notes whether it's a "digital list price discount" (even when it is), so Kobo's team always approve it, since they have guidelines to specifically look for it.

I never tried an after-the-original-price-goes-up price match, but good to know it works.
