It looks like some part of the Onyx custom power logic lost its mind.
It could be that something on your device is corrupt. I'd do a full update if you can. Your data should be safe if you don't wipe. Code:
Model: Page (English) Finger: Onyx/Page/Page:11/2024-09-11_03-46_3.5.4_fbdec6b69a/47380:user/release-keys Link: http://firmware-us.boox.com/e275d1c30d46c00585188fb00127acde/update.upx Size: 1,766,411,105 MD5: e275d1c30d46c00585188fb00127acde |

I've already applied both the 3.5.4 update through adb sideload as well as updated to the 4.0 release candidate through the updater when I'm booted into the os, nothing changed after both methods of updating.

Hmm, I'm thinking it still could be the battery and that the updating of the battery stats is not quick enough for you to see that it's dying.
I'd be running this on my battery eliminator/power monitor to see what's going on. If you had a bench supply or another battery you could check this. Don't blow anything up. |

When the cable is disconnected the current value updates about 20 times before the device powers off. Unfortunately I don't have a bench supply to test with. I've ended up ordering another Page though so will be able to verify if it's a battery issue whenever that arrives. Will also be interesting to see if it starts working after flashing the emmc from the new one to the old one.

The new Page has arrived. Confirmed both batteries function properly in the new Page. Writing the emmc from the new page to the old one does not let it start booting without the usb connected unfortunately.

So you replaced the full 32 GB? and it acted the same?
There's something wrong around the PMIC (Power Management IC). Is this still under warranty? I think that 913 mA was a clear sign. Either it's true and there's some problem somewhere or else it's false and the measurement is being scaled wrong. The battery current sensing resistor could have increased in value. Possibilities: Turn it into a wall weather/time clock. Or fix it. Or sell it (to me?) Thoughts: Is the shutdown the same in recovery? |

Yes, the full 32gb backup I made of the new Page was flashed to the old page using "edl /w /s0 /c0 freshemmc.img /z" which did not affect the problem.
Technically it's under warranty but I didn't get it from an authorized seller so I have my doubts I'd actually be able to use it. Also, yes even in recovery the device will shutdown either immediately or it will stay on the amount of time it would take your app to update the current value 20 times. I have no idea how I'd go about fixing the pmic but if you have some ideas I'm okay with a soldering iron and have some resistors I can cannibalize from an old mobo. Otherwise if you're interested in buying it let's talk about that over dms |

You can get one of those cheesy USB power meters for $10.
If connected through USB you're seeing much higher current then the problem is a hardware one with load. If it's the same then we're back to the PMIC. Of course, if you have a thermal camera you can look for hot sports. |
