Thanks. Well you didn't fine-tune the patches I'm interested in either. I just turn off the footer then. I do need the clock to keep track on time and now I also measure how much battery is consumed in Nickel.

I did fine-tune the header & footer. The yes/no are in kobopatch.yaml. If you look at Kobopatch.yaml, you'll see where it shows ## Customized. The patches I've customized are under the comment. So you have a look in the src directory and find those patches and you can see what I've customized. You would have to compare with the uncustomized patches to see which ones I've customized.

What Top 50? There's a patch that removes recommendations and ads. I've been using it for so long that I forget what the homepage looked like before. I only see the books in my library on the homepage.

But then I keep wifi permanently off, so that may also be the reason I see nothing on my homepage.

Or you can use sideloaded mode and there will be no home screen at all.

I'm looking for a patch that enables landscape mode for the Kobo Clara BW. This release 4.39.22861doesn't include that patch, and when I copied it from another patch set, the kobopatch program didn't generate the KoboRoot.tgz file in the output folder.

IIRC I don't think you actually need a patch. You can manually edit (with a good text editor) your Kobo's config file, found at .kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf

Try adding these 2 lines:

[DeveloperSettings]
ForceAllowLandscape=true

If the first line already exists in your .conf file, just add the second line below it.

Thank you. That works, but there is a problem- In the landscape mode the touch areas does not correspond with the icons displayed on the screen. It is very difficult to use reader then.

That's a pity. I just tested it briefly on my Clara 2E and it does seem to work OK on this one, which was the newest Clara model before the ClaraBW was released.

I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions.

This is a known problem, and there is currently no solution. You must use the Clara 2E or Clara HD if you want 6" with a functional landscape mode.

Most of the patches also work for firmware 4.41.23145 except the following:

• My 24 line spacing values
• Hide browser from beta features
• Allow rotation on all devices
• Customize ComfortLight settings

There might be more patches not working, but these I found out for my usecase.

I tried patch 4.38.23171 on an older Kobo Aura (the first one) with firmware 4.38.23171. It doesn't work; in particular, the third row remains visible. And the Quick Tour is also permanent visible.
Any ideas? It's not important, just my perfectionism.

Did you enable the patches in the kobopatch.yaml file?
