The font I use is ChareInk6SP for a smaller space. It looks quite good.

My vision isn't the best...always been extremely nearsighted with astigmatism...and I'm probably going to have to try progressives soon.
That said, I've been experimenting with Luciole of late. https://www.luciole-vision.com/luciole-en.html I haven't taken a screenshot of it on my kindle yet though, sorry. |

I’m a ChareInk6SP and Verdana Pro Condensed girlie. I have myopia and astigmatism. I normally read on size one on my Kindle. I use size five when I’m eating and my Kindle is further away from me. I like fonts that allow for as many words on the screen as possible.

Verdana Pro Condensed does look good for sans-serif.

I normally find Rakuten Serif / Kakugo quite good for legibility--I can happily read it without my glasses at night without having to bump up the font size several sizes above what I usually use. The one bit that annoys me is the lack of serif makes it difficult to tell whether I'm looking at a capital 'I' or lowercase 'L', especially when at the beginning of the word.

I find slab serif fonts which Bookerly is one of them to be rather ugly.

I love using Lexend Dexa, especially in the dark mode. The reading seems easier to me. mode https://www.lexend.com/

Fern text is very nice and easy to read –*someone recommended it on another thread here.
I also like Crimson Pro, Crimson Text and FreightText Pro. Though maybe not as "easy" to read, I still find EB Garamond very pleasant, but it requires a bit of additional weight on e-ink. |

You can see that Charis SIL even extends the "slabness" of Bitstream Charter (on which it is based) by the fact that the serifs have no fillets, but instead meet the stems at a 90° angle. And, Bookerly is not a slab serif, but rather a true serif. The serifs connect to the stems via a line that angles up slowly from the end of the serif, so that they are thicker near the stem. Slab serifs are much more similar thickness through the whole serif. |
