Why do you think they're downloading more than you are? They were using a python script to download their library loans just as you are using some workaround to download your library loans. The only difference is the method — python script vs whatever workaround you're using.

All I'm saying is, OverDrive/Libby is tracking user activity, and if you're borrowing audiobooks without listening to them, will it raise a red flag and get your library card banned?

Just a guess. Something got them noticed--and really quickly, since the changeover to Libby is less than a month old--so it's either the script itself, or the volume of downloads, or both.

I get what you're saying, but I don't feel a need to worry about it.

That link is no good. Overdrive for Windows no longer works. Overdrive discontinued it.

A workaround that might work is to play the audiobook on your computer while you are not listening to it. Heck, I could have it going on my phone while I'm asleep.

The link works to download the program. Copy the link to a browser rather than clicking on it. You can then install.

Using it to download seems another matter.

Yes, I think I mentioned that somewhere above; anything that can be played can be recorded. I'm old enough to remember hooking up a tape recorder to the radio to record the top 40.
