Could it be a recurrence of the database corruption bug? I haven't bumped into it myself, but I tend to return to the homescreen before connection.

I haven't run into the database corruption issue with this firmware. I was experiencing it almost nonstop in the buggy version a few months ago. (And, yes, I ALWAYS return to the home screen before connecting.) The only issue I've noticed is that the last line on a screen shows the top of the first line of the next screen, even with line-spacing set to 0. Once I adjusted the line-spacing, it seems ok, but I haven't experienced this in a long, long time. That doesn't seem like enough to pull the update, though.

That's a long standing issue with KePub.

Huh, I think I noticed the same thing - on all newly-added books, I use Kobo Utilities to set the same beginning settings (Rakuten Serif, font size 30, line-spacing of 6, margins of 4).

After installing the firmware, I had to do the same thing. I didn't really think anything of it, just thought it was some issue with the CSS of the books.
