Guess I'll have to. The general assumption when one device operates at a much lower performance than another identical model is that there is a fault with the former, not a freak with the latter. Aw well.

Two things. Music drains the battery. Make sure it is off when you power down. Also, if you don't plan to use your reader for a few days, do a complete 'shut down' of your reader. I learned these from experience over the past couple years. Battery life is much better!!!
