It's kind of sad. FWIW, the US Kindle edition has a slightly more reasonable title.

"A Fire Born of Exile: A Xuya Universe Romance (Xuya Universe Romances) Kindle Edition"


I've mostly seen these adver-titles on Joffe's titles. I do pick up some of their weekly freebies. The Kindle edition shows on the web page but is not part of the title when you look at the downloaded book.

If it's a book that's not part of a series I am or want to read or it's not from an author I want to read or it's not a book I have on my radar, I will ignore it.

It's bad enough for review crap in the blurb. But in the title is just outrageous. Also, if I was voting for the Hugo awards, I would not vote for it even if I've read it and loved it.

No. But the Blurb can be very long and if it contains ":" mostly the ":" is in the filename, but sometimes not. I can save files with ":" in them on Linux, but the backup fails to copy them.

On the Kobo store, that crap often appears in the subtitle which is admittedly less annoying than the actual title but still clutters things up - e.g. go through the bargain bin section and you'll see things like:

Yes, it does seem to be a limitation of Amazon's database format. I guess it's the only way to get that information anywhere it will show up.
