Reached 234K Books - Old Books Start to Disappear - Page 2

I've definitely lost files with OneDrive sync, but that may have been because I used multiple Windows computers then. Anyway, I no longer use OneDrive since that incident; I moved to Dropbox. Not lost anything with Dropbox.

Yes Exactly its not just the cover the Folder is present but empty from the cover and file. Just an empty folder.

Database Main initial search found no errors

This is what the folder looks like for missing books

Who deleted the book file and the cover! It's a mystery

I didn't delete it

It's not in the cloud or synced with any cloud folder.

I can't find all of them with any search with the Quality Check plugin .. Any help on how to find them would be appreciated

So, there's a "Mary Ting" folder and within it there's a "The Chosen Knights (nnnn)" folder which is empty

Is that right?

What does the third stage of Check Library have to say for itself?

It'll be some third party program, as previously suggested a desk cleanup app.

What role does Zoho play - It's a remote desktop app… yes?

What do you get if you click Yes on the Check Library Success popop, the last stage is the critical one.

I can guess, but its better you tell us.

Oh, have a look in Remove books->Restore recently deleted - the Formats tab.

Click on that "yes" for further check.

Yeah I forgot - 745K books - it'll take a while because its rattling around reconciling the folders and files and the database.

Meanwhile, have a peek in the library .caltrash folder, it's a hidden folder - with your file manager.

I've checked all Fixable and delete able options on the next screen... every click took quite some time. Unfortunately, the missing books (No files in folder) are still as is!

Well, if something outside Calibre has been deleting files, then Calibre has no way to restore them.

The first priority now is to ascertain what exactly is the culprit here. Do you or have you run any automatic back-up or cleaning programs in the background?

No I've double checked. Never had and didn't install
