Look at the seams on the insides of your shirts and pants. Thats what sergers do, make the really neat 'finished' seams.

I don't use one. Could never get past the threading part. In my lifetime, I've failed art and sergers.

How else would I manage to spend so much time here on Mobileread

Seriously, my laptops probably my most important gadget, as I use it for everything from, Study, work, entertainment, Communication, etc.

I usually always have it with me if I'm out for any real length of time, and always when going overnight.

My two digital audio players (VictorReader Stream and iPod Video) have become firmly attached to my daily routine.

The Stream is excellent for podcasts and audiobooks, but clunky and irritating for music. As it is specifically designed for the blind and visually impaired, it has no screen and doesn't play videos. I like being able to speed up people who speak agonizingly slowly and slow down people who speak a zillion words per minute. It's easier to operate while wearing gloves, and it doesn't shut down when it gets too cold.

I use the iPod for music, videos, and a couple of podcasts that are released in a format that the Stream can't use. I don't use it as much in the winter as I do in the summer because it doesn't work outside when it's colder than 15F.

Um, no. The 'jet air' threading they're talking about? Tried it and failed also.

Working at a quilt shop that sold several brands of machines, I was able to try all of them, and even take classes from the owner.

I came away knowing in my heart that the serger was
"the Debil's Machine" Seriously.

However, I could sell fabric to a nudist colony............so she kept me.
