Send-to-Kindle Win Update Killed .epub - Page 2

This time I uninstalled Kindle reader and Send to Kindle using uninstall utilities. Reinstalled latest Kindle Reader (I had and old one from before the "cutoff") and Reinstalled the Send-To-Kindle Windows app. Still "File Type Not Supported" for .epubs (not .mobi but you get the unsupported email).

I give. Guess I will be switching to the web version for a while.

Yep, it's broken for me too. I uninstalled and went back to 1.1.1.253 but that still didn't work, so I'll try Revo and see if that helps. I do have an older version for 2021 but I don't know what version that is. Should have skipped when it asked if I wanted to update. Argh!

Or the older 2021 version? I can't remember exactly when it was that the EPUB support for send to Kindle dropped. Thank you.

It's even not launching on my MacBook Air (M1), it shows app window but click on anything and it goes poof (metaphorically), with crash log.
I was already noticing that it doesn't show up as a Printer, or show in file context menu, as it does on my Intel Mac. Haven't gotten around to trying to fix it.

A small update. I’m on a PC laptop, but discovered I don’t actually have an older version when I checked my files. I thought I did, but nope. I have 1.1.0.253, not 1.1.1.253, so uninstalling and reinstalling an older version didn’t work for me.

I put 1.1.1.255 back on my laptop, and it works when I open the app, then drag and drop the EPUB file into it. Doesn’t work if I try to use it with a right-click in Windows Explorer. It does still work for MOBI files though.

Fortunately, STK via email for EPUB still works, so I’m doing that or dragging and dropping on my laptop. I haven’t used the STK app on my desktop PC for a while, so knowing this, it’s still on an older version, 1.1.1.254, so when it popped up asking if I wanted to update, I clicked the option to SKIP THIS VERSION.

Just gonna wait it out with an update to the app on my laptop and workaround it.

For me (Win 10 64-bit), my right-click->S2K gave me the "unsupported file" error. I'll try uninstall/reinstall old later.

Same here - Windows SendToKindle 1.1.1.255 refuses to sent EPUBs, sends MOBIs. Emailed EPUBs are also rejected.

Now this is über-weird: emailing EPUBs fails, as does sending via file explorer "Send to SendToKindle" feature. But opening STK and dropping EPUB files into it looks as if it works, but nothing appear either in the library or on the device.

And yes, sending MOBIs via STK added to "Send To" function not only works, but documents show covers on my Voyage (Scribe shows them more or less consistently.)

I am yet to test emailing MOBIs.

Everybody seems to experience different symptoms. We are not amused - these constant S/W glitches are really annoying.

Yeah, it’s very weird. Emailing both EPUBs and MOBIs work for me. STK via Windows Explorer for MOBI works. Drag and drop EPUB into the opened STK app on Windows works. All of this is on my laptop since I skipped the upgrade on my desktop after the upgrade glitch on my laptop.

Hopefully there have been people reporting the glitch so they are fixing it even as we are discussing this.

S2K version 1.1.0.254 still sends via right-click and will send epub. I just installed it over 1.1.1.255 and had no problems. I have the .exe, but am I allowed to post a link? Oldversion.com does not seem to have it.

I only have 1.1.0.253 which does not work with EPUBs.

I have it working on M2 Mac running Ventura, though it does not show up in context menu like previous versions did. I added it to context menu > Quick Actions, and that works. Though interestingly, every time I launch it through Quick Actions there is a quick pop-up that says "Getting client configures ..." before the app window appears. That pop-up does not come up when launching the app directly, and drag-and-drop onto app works fine.

What is Send to Kindle 'printer'?
