I'm older than I've ever been.

And now I'm even older.

(38 in terms of actual years, act somewhat younger according to my work colleagues, never felt any particular age...)

Perfectly normal behaviour. I am convinced all these devices are already sentient, and it's only the continual threat of being hatchet tested that keeps them running and mostly compliant.

Me too (38).

(I shouldn't be writing this while talking (i.e. listening) to Mum on the phone, should I? )

Cheers,

I'm convinced they're not only sentient but able to communicate telepathically. It's the only convincing explanation I could come up with as to why a mail server in a previous job would work so long as a small spiral made of solder was underneath it, but became unreliable when it was moved; and why I knew about 5 minutes before arriving to work that it had problems.

I strongly suspect I shouldn't have admitted to any of that in public

Probably not. But I can hardly talk (I'm not on my phone to my mum right now. She's almost as bad as I am for staying up late, but this might be pushing it a little. But when I am, I have been known to. The yeti does to when he's talking to his mum. Or reads. )

There was a Story of a Study being done on People who are scared of computers are more likely to get computer errors. Weather that was true or not im not sure, but i personally think it is.

have you ever tried to use someone elses computer and it just doesnt work "right" for you? while they can come over and everything will work just fine.

I can well believe that, given the amount of times things that "weren't working" suddenly start working when I'm on the end of the phone helping and reassuring the person with problems.

No. I'm the annoying person who uses your computer to see what a problem is and it never appears when I'm there.

Edited to add: like my parent's computer today. Still, it at least carried on working for long enough for my dad to print what he wanted to print.

Oh yes, im the same way. People call me, There is something wrong with my printer. i go over there, click file print and it prints fine. they are like how did you do that... I went to File, and then Print..

when people use my computer they say its slow, or not working right, but when I use it, its just fine, my computer used to be the fastest one on the block, now its an old clunker... oh well. i dont need a speed demon any more. ive stopped playing video games.

i experience the not feeling "right" with my family computer...

it used to be Mine, but i stipped it and did things to it and refitted it for the family computer. ever since its always acted strangely when im around. i think it was angry at me.

I wouldn´t mind being considered much younger, Marc. Imagine you go to a movie theater and the girl sitting on the cash desk offers you a "aged 60+" discount. That was what happened to me once (I was the cashier, not the customer, but that man was really pissed, he showed me his ID card, he was 49 ). That was about 18 years ago, I was real bad in estimating someone´s age by that time.

I´m 36, but most of the time I either feel much younger or much older.

My kids frequently make me feel like I am 4, especially when we´re digging for earthworms in the garden or ambush our neighbour´s cat with fully loaded squirt guns.

Then there are some teenage kids of friends and relatives who make me feel like I was 16 again. A couple of weeks ago, I accompanied one 15-year-old to the premiere of "Twighlight" (her parents refused to do so) and I had to wait two hours to see that actor, I even can´t remember his name now, and believe me he´s not as handsome as all those screaming girls made me think .

Some of my clients at work make me feel like burned-out 50. And sports made me feel like 86 yesterday when I tried Airboarding for the very first time (climb up a mountain, jump on an air mattress and sledge down while you try to avoid trees; today I feel like I´ve been put through the winger ...).

You know what make you feel old? When without being asked, they automatically give your the senior discount. Okay, so I"m 60 and 1/2. Its been a rough 2 years. Did I age that much to go from

"wow, you don't look that old" to

"That'll be $32.64 including your senior discount, ma'm"

arrogant young pups. Get off my damn lawn!
