Well, I have a Cybook and the first time downloaded the book to the mobipocket reader I had to enter my Cyberread username and password. And when I transferred it to my Cybook it asked for it again.

Though I couldn't read the ebook on my Cybook when I tried to for the first time. So I downloaded it again from the website and after typing in my password and username twice (once for the mobipocket reader & again for the cybook). After that second time it worked fine.

Regarding CurlyGirl's issues - Clint Brauer from CyberRead

[QUOTE=curlygirl;320894]Yeah, I download the book from "my account" also. Then drag&drop the file to my SD Card and even tried this in my Hanlin harddisk itself, still no luck. They said in the website it'll be okay will Cybook, but since I have Hanlin V3 I emailed them first to make sure is it ok with Hanlin, and they said YES it should be no problem.

Folks - I have handled this issue with "curlygirl" and issued a refund. She's much happier now. I'm hoping she will respond to this thread to let everyone know that we made a real effort.

I understand getting frustrated when something you purchased doesn't work. It sends me into orbit.

And it stinks that our site does not work seamlessly with these devices. That's getting resolved.

However, I would like to correct a few erroneous statements. We never said it would be "no problem". In fact I cited our Bookeen FAQ and asked her to give the same process a shot with the Hanlin device.

The exact language I ended with is below:

"It's probably a longshot...but let's just see".

In addition, we never had more than 24 hours pass between a "curlygirl" inquiry and our response. In most cases it was within hours or even within the hour.

Again, I understand the frustration because frankly most companies just don't give a hoot about each individual customer. To them, you are just another uptick on their spreadsheet.

Now that our Paypal project and a few others are completed, it has now risen to #1 on our list of priorities. When the developers come back from the holidays (around the 10th), it will be addressed.

And we'll reach out to CurlyGirl and a few others to test it. And then I'm going to have some whiskey to celebrate.

However, you can not run mobipocket reader on a Mac... which is what curlygirl has.

Thanks for the reply guys...

Actually, I'd tried the instruction given in the FAQ, but no luck.
Next thing I register my device PID in mobipocket site in case it'll help, and re-download the file again from the cyberread, then following the instruction again, trust me, still no luck. I'd tried and tried for some couple of hours with the file, wondering how to make it works.

Then finally I got the email reply.
But the problem's solved now, they will refund the payment.
And they said that they will upgrade the system to the normally put your own PID kind of thing (like Bob and Fictionwise), and when they'd upgraded I'd like to give it another try and I hope there won't be any problem then

Can't wait to the celebration part

CurlyGirl (and others)

We have a working version of manual PID review and entry (meaning it is not polished & pretty) working on our site as of this morning. A screenshot is attached to this post.

I would like to have some folks from this board test and let me know your thoughts. Here's a code for 50% off your purchase for testing purposes. (the code expires on 1/21)

The code is: MREAD1

It would be preferred if you can log any issues via our support interface at http://cyberread.custhelp.com (easier for us to track), but you obviously can discuss here as well. (couldn't stop you even if I wanted to!)

Look forward to hearing the criticism.

Finally, I just have time to test to buy a book from CyberRead again (with entering MANUAL PID option). And guess what, this time it really works!!!
Just same thing as you buy from fictionwise or BoB, and what I like here is they offer real 50% discount (not the rebates or micropay kind of stuff).

And I wish CyberRead can add more titles in the future, cause I searched some titles are not there yet (but other site have it).

So, this time, CONGRATULATIONSSSSS!!!!!!
