Still the "generator error"
I tried what you suggested and it didn't work. I was so frustrated by trying again and again that I gave up. Still, I miss KOReader, so I gave it another try today after all this time and there's no way I don't get the "Generator error" message.
I resetted my Kobo Clara HD (after rebooting, signing in, etc., I got FW 4.38 and after that I togged off the WiFi connection). Staying in the "home" page in my Kobo, I plugged my Kobo to my pc and used the script file with the newest version of KOReader. The result is still the same: there appears the NickelMenu but when I touch it I get the "Generator error" message, while in "My books" I have the KFMon and KOReader icons. I tried installing the KFMon package only and I get the same result. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong (the first time I installed KOReader was plain easy...). |

Have you tried uninstalling KFMON and just using a NickelMenu entry to launch KOReader?
Add the following line to the file where your NickelMenu selections are stored: Code:
menu_item : main : KOReader : cmd_spawn : quiet : exec /mnt/onboard/.adds/koreader/koreader.sh |

Yes, I reinstalled KFMon and I also tried formatting the entire Kobo and starting all the process from scratch. Nothing works. I'm not sure I understand how to follow your suggestion (I know nothing about programming and I don't know what exactly the NickelMenu is), sorry... Could you please explain it step by step? Thank you for your time.

NickelMenu is the program you installed by installing one of NiLuJe's OCP installers. And since you mentioned NickelMenu in your message to which I responded, I assumed that you knew what it was.
You may want to take a look at the NickelMenu: An integrated launcher for Kobo eReaders and the Best of NickelMenu? threads. And I would still suggest that you uninstall KFMon since it is unnecessary for the purposes of launching KOReader and/or Plato. Last edited by DNSB; 01-18-2025 at 12:07 AM. |
