I agree. And I think Jim Dale's "performance" of the Harry Potter books was outstanding. So, this is the standard by which I judge other audio books.

Thanks all for the suggestions too. I hope this thread has helped others looking for well performed books too.

My wife didn't want to renew... which is why we had to use all the credits... you can carry over 6 normally. Now, I just need to find time to listen to these 7 books. My iPod is backing up with the few podcasts I listen to and haven't been keeping up. I have started walking every morning over the past month so maybe I will reserve that time for listening to audio books.

They are (or were) all unavailable unabridged from Recorded Books. I got mine from my local library.

Try Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. The audio version is excellent.

I know this these are not on Audible. but if you go to padiobooks.com and look for either "Heaven" or "Playing for Keeps." These are free serialized podcast books written by Mur Lafferty. She is very good.

I had the same and decided to spent my last few credits of some books by James Clavell.

Hmmm, just checking my audible library... I've books I completely forgot I bought! I think I'll put Jules Verne on my TomTom next...

The Count of Monte Cristo was my first ever audible book...

Don't go to padiobooks.com (it is a spam search site), go to http://www.podiobooks.com/.
