Ctrl+C problems in editor

What version Calibre are you running? If it's not the latest version, I suggest installing the latest version and trying again.

Sorry for the delay, I was quite sick for the past week and haven't been checking in. I am not using a third-party software for the clipboard

I am using the latest version of Calibre, and I believe (I won't swear to it, but pretty sure) it started before the last update, and of course, continued after.

It happened again today while I was catching up on updating my ebooks, but luckily it was after I saved for once.

Well ctrl-c only does copy to clipboard in calibre via Qt which in turn uses the windows clipboard APIs I know of no reason why that should crash. But I suggest you follow the advice here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=350815


in case it is in fact webengine crashing and unrelated to the clipboard.

Could you give specifics of your system? I'm having, I assume, the same problem, but mine's on the actual paste (CTRL-V), not on the copy (CTRL-C). Mine is the thread Kovid referenced, above. But disabling hardware acceleration didn't fix the problem (I thought it had, but I was premature).

Right now, I'm thinking it could be related to Windows 11 22H2 or my AMD CPU/GPU. But, does any of the following match anything of yours?

Sorry, I have no clue where to get all that. I do have Windows 11 22H2, all up to date. My problem is definitely just with the Copy, and it did happen again after trying that fix.

It isn't easy to figure out why, since it doesn't happen every time I use Copy (or Paste in your case). I can go a couple of days and it's OK, then 3 times in a row another time.

Just to confirm that it is web engine related. Does closing the preview panel prevent it from happening?

My list of components is from HWInfo64:

But, you could copy/paste the most important stuff from something like Windows' System Information report. Just type System Information in the Start Menu.

I have pretty much basic everything. Intel for Graphics, ACPI x64based PC, Windows 11 Home.

I have turned off preview panel, but as it doesn't always happen, hard to say if that worked to stop it yet, or if it just hasn't happened at all. Will keep an eye on it.
