I use readers since 2009, little by little upgrading the model. Currently I have the Note2 and I am waiting for some 13.3 with good color screen or some 10 or 13 with HDMI capabilities. During the pandemics, I worked mostly using the Note2 for grading papers, taking notes and studying. With the cellphone used zoom or meet. In Note2 I use: - The native app to read, comment or scribble pdf. - To take notes also the native app. - Office Textmaker or TextMaker Mobile Free, to write offline documents (is like a full PC MS Word). Also the apps for slides and sheets. - For online work the google apps. For example: I create folders in drive with docs for my students to write essays or use classroom and grade them using Drive and Docs from google in Note2. - I read manga using "Mi Manga Nu". - Install (if possible) apps from Aurora Store or F-Droid. - Gmail app. - EinkBro to read news and stuff. - RadioDroid in the background. I try to have manual sync activated to save battery and be able to choose when I want to read email or etc, so notifications don't interrupt my work. - Brave as my default browser always and firefox for backup. |

A report that Leaf 2 might be released internationally: https://goodereader.com/blog/onyx-bo...nternationally Oh! Check your device if this file exists: Code:
$ ls -l /sys/devices/virtual/switch/hdmi/state $ cat /sys/devices/virtual/switch/hdmi/state Edit: I'm beginning to think that the 636 Onyxes (like Poke3) only have a bit of HDMI stuff left in them for an (unimplemented) physical HDMI connector on the device. I think that maybe the 662 Onyxes (like NoteAir2) have DisplayPort alternate mode. To run an HDMI monitor, you'd need a ~$40 adapter and not a ~$15 adapter. If you have an adapter that works on a Chromebook, please try it. Could somebody with a 662 Onyx get me this file, please: Code:
C:\>adb pull /proc/config.gz Code:
$ zcat /proc/config.gz | grep TYPEC Last edited by Renate; 10-29-2022 at 08:46 AM. |

An interesting video.
Still, someone appears to be a sloppy eater. And I'm not sure about those sideburns. |

I might buy the white version of the Leaf 2. It has Carta 1200, page turn buttons and a sunken screen, so could be a better alternative to the Libra 2. Also has an SD card slot!

Onyx Boox in the Q & A section of the Tab Ultra (on the official website) said at least two times that the Ultra doesn't support USBC to HDMI connection.
That's an official answer. Maybe the nextone! |

This repeats the saga of USB OTG (On-the-Go, i.e. USB hosting for accessories). For years different hardware was capable of OTG but manufacturers didn't put it in. |

Just ordered the white Leaf 2 from Ereader Store in Germany. I've had very good experiences with them in the past. They usually ship quickly.

Here's the user manual that comes with the Leaf 2 in the middle time, so you can prepare in advance.

Thanks! I learned something about the Poke3.
Why the heck do they take a 300 DPI device and have the default be 350 DPI? I couldn't figure out why the density on my Poke3 changed after you booted and did one sleep. Go to the "Eink Center" and set it. |

The Boox team wrote to me that they did on reddit, and later removed the comment.. And on their website they don't mention which generation of the Carta screen is used (neither is this mentioned on ereader.store). |

Edit: I have found some claims that the white version of Leaf 2 offers better reading experience than the black version because the white version is recessed while the black version's display is flush with the bezel. Would that factor alone make any real difference in display quality? Last edited by downeaster59; 11-08-2022 at 11:47 AM. |
