Synchronize reading a book on two different onyx devices

I don't take notes so I didn't dive any deeper.

The location that they were talking about is the standard "databases" directory for any app so I'm not sure that there is anything there.

Nope, I already found that one (/data/user/0/com.onyx.kreader/databases) and it doesn't seem to exist on my Note Pro. There is a data/com.onyx.kreader in the storage folder. However, that one doesn't contain a database directory.
(That thread actually only looked in backup database files from the note-app.)

I have been asking the support directly. Apparently, version 3.3.1 supports library reading data synchronization. Put the book in the same path on both devices .. and press and hold the document [Sync] to turn on the sync switch, and then open the book to synchronize the reading data.

However, I can't find a sync switch. Not in v3.2.3 on the Note Pro, nor the 3.3.1. on the Note 5. Does anyone know how to get it to work? Do you need 2 devices to the same account?

You have to be logged into the Boox account, then you can activate syncing in the settings of the library

Thanks @ottischwenk! My Note Pro 3.2.x doesn't have that setting in the library.
Support suggests that I should wait patiently until 3.3.1 is released for the Note Pro Android 9.

So another approach would be to just install the apk of the library and hope that the sync function is implemented. However, don't see a likely candidate. I see a ksync.apk in the ksync-release directory, though. Anyone know how this part of Onyx software ecology works?

My Android 9 devices (Nova 2, Poke 2) have 3.3.1.
Even my Poke Pro (Android 6) has this version and can sync.

Good to hear. However, the Note Pro has both Android 6 and 9 firmware. The Android 9 upgrade was a tech enthusiast one and rather finicky. The firmware updates always seems to roll out months later and every time I wonder whether they are going to keep supporting it. Apparently, they are.

But it is to be hoped that an OTA update can work at all.
My Poke Pro update is already from January 12th.

Interesting. The Note Pro has 3.2.x from September, The Note 5 has 3.3.1 from December and the Poke Pro from this January.
Would you know when the Poke Pro got its 3.2.x update? Than I could estimate the amount of patience to be had.

No - I didn't save the version numbers.

According to this reddit post, the first 3.2.3 updates already came in June. (See attached image.)
So with the Note Pro update arriving in September, there was a 3 month delay. The 3.3.1 came in December on the Note 5, so I could be expecting a new firmware as early as this month.
