Do I need to keep elasticsearch? - Page 2

I have 8 calibre libraries, only 1 of which, my Test library, has a full-text-search.db file. I had one in my Books library but I deleted it, and it hasn't reappeared. I haven't used FTS on the other 6 libraries.

I'm sticking with my current content search tools - Windows Search (mainly), FileLocator Pro, and X1; plus calibre integration via the Drop Search Results plugin.

I tried to set it to not run by deselecting the file types, etc. Still getting the huge file.

FTS is not enabled by default and if you want to disable simply click the show indexing status button on the fts window and then click the checkbox at the top to disable it.

Hey, I put the plugin back on the main menu to check off that disabling feature, and the only choice I found was to "restrict searched books" - I am guessing that is the one? Anyhow, if I select it can I delete the file in the library folder?

Click the 'Show Indexing Status' button. The checkbox is there.

Thanks! FOund it, clicked it, and now I am going to see if I can delete that file and continue with the other plugin I use.

Out of curiosity, why would you put the FT search item in the main menu when you can click on the FT in the search bar?

Because the search bar can be hidden (Alt+Shift+F) I have FTS and VL in Favourites, which is at the top of my book list context menu

I never considered using file locator pro on my books. I have the program (along with Directory Opus) and it never ocurred to me to use it for the full text search. Which ironically, I have yet to really need. Unless I am trying to recall a sentence in a book that is tickling my brain and I am trying to remember where I read it, I don't really use it.
