It's a local drive, an old 2.5 TB external USB hard drive to be precise. My entire Calibre library (55GB+) is on that drive, but backed up regularly to 2 other drives, one an internal spinner.

Good to hear. Sadly, the common question with cloud storage is "calibre worked for years and now my library is corrupt/inaccessible/whatever! Help!"
