I have an origami case on my kobo, though it was a cheaper one than kobo sell, and never use the origami folding function. Instead, a very inexpensive mobile phone stand which can be angled is more useful.
I've just ordered a case with a solid front. If my cat put her paw on the front of the origami case while it's lying flat, she'd put her paw into the screen. At least that's what I think; whereas a solid cover will give more protection, and can still be stood using the moby stand, which was about £3 for two. |

Kobo works so well with Calibre. It's so easy to find your books on a Kobo. I only use kepub for tests, so don't need the patch to match epub and kepub sizes. Certainly there are things on the Nook or Kindle that need changed more than anything on my Sony PRS-350, but the value of the Kobo is that though it's not locked down like a Kindle there is really no need to patch anything or install extra programs. I've had or have 8 brands of ereaders, have had or tried 6 different Kobo models, 2 different Sonys, 3 different Binatones and 7 different Kindles. Also tested many ereader apps on Android from Android 4 to Android 10 and screen 4.3" to 10". So I 've got a basis to compare. |

I recently patched my Libra2 out of curiosity and installed NM and the KOreader without that KFMon.
On holiday I only got to read one book, but now I've just finished reading my second one on an e-ink and have to say that I'm starting to appreciate my Kobo. If you just want to read without looking up pictures or anything on the internet, the compactness, light weight and buttons for page turning is really not bad. With my KePubs, the word spacing in justification and hyphenation is sometimes a bit large, but it didn't bother me too much. (Marvin3 on iOS works better). The fact that the KOreader doesn't have an integrated browser is an absolute anti-feature for me, I'd rather stay with the native one. tl;dr I like the Kobo more and more Last edited by Wiggo; 12-04-2022 at 01:10 AM. |
