Returning to home screen automatically

Is there any way yet to always have the option to go back to the Home screen from within a book, even if your last stop was from Books or Collections? Either as the only option or an alternate option added? I'd be happy with either. I haven't seen a patch yet that will do it (possible I missed it though if it's a newer patch), or is NickelMenu capable of doing that?

NickelMenu is capable of doing that. This is the config code I use. It lets me go home from within a book.

menu_item:reader:Home:nickel_misc:home

This is just brilliant! I also added links back to books, authors, series and collections just to have all my options covered at my whim, as well as a quick Invert screen shortcut there within books instead of having to go into Settings. I'm kicking myself for not looking into NickelMenu sooner.

Thanks for the example code, it made it easier to figure out what else I wanted there and how to do it.

Happy to help. Here is another very useful piece of NickelMenu code. It allows me to create a USB connection without having to unplug and replug the USB cable. It's very useful with Calibre to update the metadata.

Thanks for that. I've been using NickelSeries to update metadata without replugging twice, but this seems very useful too and will add it.

Switch between recent books easily
• Reading a few books at once? Swipe down while you're reading to easily switch between your 3 most recently viewed items.

It's just a swipe from the top of the screen to about 1/2 way down. It lets you swap easily between your last four opened eBooks without having to leave exit the reading app.
