As you are putting new variables into equation - now is buyng direct from Amazon in the US - and If I was in your shoes, I would make a simulation into making that buying from Amazon: buying the Sony, seeing how much they will charge you for the transport, and try to find how much you will pay for costumes and VAT in Spain when the device enters the country.

One more thing: buying the Sony from the US and you will not have the European warranty for it.
Hmm, but if I buy it from the UK I *shouldn't* have to pay VAT right? Only if I bought from outside EU (maybe I'm wrong).

And I already knew I can buy the Cybook / Sony / Hanlin in Spanish websites, but they are extremely overpriced compared to buying directly from UK... I plan to spend only 200ish € in a device. (not 250/280 + shipping).

"According to waterstones system", the Sony would only cost me 198pounds (194 + 4 "surface shipping") = 207 €

Where can I get the cheapest Cybook from UK? (I think waterstones doesn't sell it, and in pixmania uk as I said previously it costs 220pounds + shipping, and being the same or worse than the sony, i'd prefer the later!)

Thanks!!

No, in Europe you have to pay always VAT.
What you can do is if you buy a device for your company or your business you can deduct it with your country fiscal services.

To not pay VAT in the UK (or any country in the EU) you will have to be from an out of the UE country, that’s why you have the “free shop” status and explanations in airports or souvenir shops in towns.

Anyway, the prices you are giving for the 505 in the UK have VAT (UK VAT) already.

If you buy the device from a UK retailer then the VAT will be included in the price. But if you import your device from ouside the EU, then you will almost certainly find yourself paying VAT to the delivery firm, who won't deliver until it is paid.
(If you can persuade the retailer to label the package as a electonic storage device then you may just get away without paying it.)

Can you clarify?

In Amazon you get today:
US - no Cybooks
UK - 230/250 pounds
Germany - 325 euros
France - 322/438 euros

So why the statement?
