You don't need to delete it from Calibre. If you choose the same format and the same name, the old catalog will just be overwritten. But yeah, I delete it from the Kindle, just in case.

This is a really neat feature.

*currently making a custom cover for the catalogue file*

Or you can go to the dreaded Home section and work on the new book there. That's the only use I've found for the Home section. New books appear on the top row and you can move them into a collection from there. No need to mess with changing filters or sorts. I avoid the Home section and stay in Library after that until I get another new book.

When you open a collection, it will display as a list, albeit with thumbnails, there's no way to get rid of those.

You can also have a different sort order within collections than at the library level, so if you like, you can have the library show collections by title/ascending and within the collections show books by recent/descending. All collections share the same sort though.

Thanks. Yes, that make things neater. For some reason, I thought that filtering for Collections there brought back the Grid view. I was wrong.

I had no idea this existed. This is pretty cool!! Thanks for sharing!

Calibre can also automatically add the series and order to the title when transferring. Use the plugboard feature.
https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/template_lang.html

This is what I have set in my Metadata Plugboard:
Code:
{series:|| }{series_index:0>2s|[|] }{title}
