Display Goggles as an ebook reader would be interesting. Put the goggles on, the text appears at a "normal" distance away from the viewer...and start to read. How about "Google Displays," if Google enters the fray? Optional colors available. Don |

they are still, jesus christ, at the point where they haven't implemented internet explorer to save as in the background, and you have to sit and watch a dialog box of the page being saved while you wait to resume your browsing.... They have disabled ctrl -s functionality to save in ie as with pretty much every app because as they claim in their blogs that would by default mean saving on the server which wouldn't make any sense. We are talking about prime time idiots here, nothing less, they are screened at microsoft it seems to be like that.... In any case most of the it community is turning away from this sad joke that is a ms into be it the linux distros, os x, or even solaris. |

But you can't hold Apple up as an example of "openness". They have a complete control of their hardware - nobody makes "Mac clones". Nobody is more agressive than Apple are when it comes to going after people who violate their intellectual property. Microsoft are a very model of openness by comparison.

I wonder if they will keep the price at $NaN.00. I could afford that!

Engadget has the scoop on this. It apperas that it is YANB (yet another netbook). So, not so revolutionary.

And running Vista! yuck.
I think the real revolutionary hardware is the Pandora a fully open handheld games console/netbook with keyboard running Linux. www.openpandora.org mines on Pre-order and hoping for it in Feb. |

Seems to start at about $899 and go up from there. I built a page on the new P Series in the wiki. At 8" and a resolution of 1600x768 with an extended battery life of 8 hours it could make a good eBook Reader for those that need really high resolution.
