Display Goggles as an ebook reader would be interesting.
Put the goggles on, the text appears at a "normal" distance away from the viewer...and start to read.

How about "Google Displays," if Google enters the fray? Optional colors available.

Yes yes, MS is a pain, it would be fantastic to see Sony use aPple software, that would mean the end of a long war between them.

If being the most successful and profitable software company in the world, with a 90%+ market share of the PC market, makes one such a dismal failure, then that's the kind of failure I'd certainly like to be.

I started my own software business in the same year that Bill Gates did. I sure wish that I'd been able to "fail" as well as he did .

He failed others though... that's what happens when you take advantage of unavailable industry standards and market them as propriety as well as for the first time in mankind when you enter a bussiness that as soon as the final product is complete you can replicate it at almost no cost at all.

But you can't hold Apple up as an example of "openness". They have a complete control of their hardware - nobody makes "Mac clones". Nobody is more agressive than Apple are when it comes to going after people who violate their intellectual property. Microsoft are a very model of openness by comparison.

But how about a small netbook, but with a folding display for small form factor and larger display size? Mike Caine has referenced a folding OLED display for a smart phone in his blog.

I'm not sure how well the wide screen will work for ebooks, but perhaps with a double page view it would be ok.

I wonder if they will keep the price at $NaN.00. I could afford that!

Engadget has the scoop on this. It apperas that it is YANB (yet another netbook). So, not so revolutionary.

And running Vista! yuck.

I think the real revolutionary hardware is the Pandora a fully open handheld games console/netbook with keyboard running Linux.

www.openpandora.org mines on Pre-order and hoping for it in Feb.

pandora is so way ahead of everything in so many respects...if apple had been making it it would have been a bigger hit than the ipod (all the marketing machine behind it and all).

archos touch devices are pretty revolutionary wrt anything that sony has come up with in the past months.

Hey, I said that the first day the topic was posted. I love my new netbook by the way. To be fair it is really for my wife.

Seems to start at about $899 and go up from there. I built a page on the new P Series in the wiki. At 8" and a resolution of 1600x768 with an extended battery life of 8 hours it could make a good eBook Reader for those that need really high resolution.
