I have the 9th gen Oasis, and it just never thrilled me. I really dislike the shape and the page turn buttons. And the battery life is dismal. The only thing I really liked was the auto-rotate. It's not been the most stable either.

I been looking at the Kobos today. Any ereaders on Kobo compare to these New Kindle??

The reason I like this Amazon Offer is 1. Payment plan 2. Bigger screen 3. Color lights

Amazon been Fast loosing me this year this is Not the 1st time they sent me offers that they Snatch away! The year is Young!!

The Kobo Libra 2 compares. I know it's a different shape as it's more square. But the screen is quite nice and it's 7". It also has the color light.

The Libra 2’s a lot more expensive than the PW5, and this particular offer came with a discount and staggered payments to boot. But even without the offer, it’s still cheaper and there’s always the trade-in option, too.

After lagging on its new offerings for years, Amazon hit one out of the park with the PW5, IMO. I’m going to take a hard look at it come Prime Day, but that’s the other thing to remember. If you’re not desperate, there’s always going to be another deal.

Too bad they changed the trade in till after they receive the kindle. It takes too long for them to credit the 20% off and I miss the sale.

I agree. I'm unlikely to move to Kindle myself. But I can admit that the Paperwhite 5 is a winner.

I don't like those cases that only cover the back. I need a book fold cover, and I never use a screen protector on my e-readers.

I had one of these on my Kindle Fire 2nd Generation!

I paid $11.29 for the cover I got from eBay. The majority of the covers I've bought the last 10 years have been under $15, from eBay. Many have been brand names, Finty, Casebot, Amazon, etc.

The only Amazon case purchased from Amazon I have is the one on my 2nd gen Paperwhite bought in 2012. I think 3rd party covers were harder to come by back then.

Jon will be along in a second complaining about how his wore out twelve years ago. But I use these babies on my tablets, Nooks and Kobos. They're great.

The one I bought from eBay is Fintie, I got the composition book style. The seller had all the options for the same low price.
