You are right. I am going with your modified version instead. I think performance wise, it is the best.

Sometimes the - I don’t know how to say - remapping of the alias names doesn‘t work at calibre start.
Then I either have to be patient and wait - at some point it works again, or save my grouping search and similar search new. It always works in the user category tag browser.
