Sure. And that may be the issue here. The OP hasn't specified the book or where they got it. I was just trying to give a simple answer to:

That and looking at what was mentioned in earlier posts... could be anything. But issues in the stylesheet are a good bet as stylesheets are more common than inline CSS.

The OP seemed concerned about why everyone was telling him/her to convert the book and will this be an ongoing isse?

In the end, it is most likely an issue with that book or how books from that source are formatted rather than any inherent issue with how Kobo handles sideloaded ePubs.
