Well I just logged into the overdrive website using a library card and pin - definitely NO EMAIL required. So I don't know what you are seeing. We are talking about www.overdrive.com aren't we? Anyway, it isn't relevent to getting the Kobo to login.

All good. I use the email login on my Kobo to use Overdrive with 2 library cards so that may be what works in my case. Having said that you should try setting up an email log in just for kicks to see if it does work.

If nothing works it could be a factory reset, but it would be an extreme measure.

As I have already said, twice, I have done that. It does not work. even set up a brand new email/password (new account) and tried that.

And as I already said, I can only help you as much as I am capable of. Which is why I previously suggested to wait for another member to reply or you can do a reset (which would be the last option).

I had a similar issue and it was due to how our local libraries are set up online. (I'm in British Columbia, Canada).

So my city library is the logical choice to choose from the drop down ... but it's not correct. I had to choose "British Columbia Libraries" and then it allowed me to sign in and after that choose my own individual library within BC Libraries.

You may want to check and see if there's a local set up like that.

I’m now having the exact same problem. Never had this issue before. I had a Libra 2 and signed into Overdrive using my library card and all went fine. I had to exchange my Libra 2 earlier today and now I can’t sign in. I tried with my library card and password and it just looped back to the main Overdrive page. I tried then with my email address and password, same thing. Frustrating.

I’m signed into Overdrive on my other readers but no clue why the new Libra 2 won’t let me.

As for a reset, I only just did yet another upgrade. Do not want to factory reset it all the way back.
Did you ever get it working? I just figured it out and it worked. Don’t do a factory reset just sign out of your Kobo account, let it do it’s thing and then you have to set up the reader again BUT all of your books sideloaded will still be there any any Kobo purchases just have to be downloaded and you’re good to go.

It doesn’t delete your books that you’ve sideloaded so just connect to Calibre if you use that and you’re golden! You will lose bookmarks on sideloaded books. But before you do that or even begin downloading your books go to Settings —> Overdrive

Click on signin. Enter your city or if there’s already your library there choose it. Then the next pages asks you to select your library and then you have the option of signin with your library card (which is what I’ve always done), or Overdrive account. I signed in with my library card and it worked!! Yay!

You will have to authorize the device with ADE again though.

I really hope it works for you. I was having an issue too so I just did a Google search and someone on Reddit posted the info, I tried it and it worked!

I had the same problem (logging into Overdrive via account or Library Card would just return me to the starting login page) and this solution worked for me. Thanks!

One thing however. While I did not lose my books I did lose my read/unread metadata on side loaded items. Not really a big problem for me but be aware.

What do you mean by "have to set up your ereader again"? If I sign out of Kobo, what do I do then? Sign in again? Is that the setup you mean?
