I like my Nova 3 Color, but would be interested in bigger one but only when they will improve colors or at least make it real 300dpi in bw mode. Right now most of the time i have to turn frontlight on

waiting for a max on-cell device with light to make the jump from a max 2.

that or a real +200 dpi 13" color device, but the first we will probably see it in the next 12 months, and the +200 color device not before 2 3 years.

Yes, there is a new Nova Air, and it looks nice.

Interesting solution to put buttons on cover…

Unfortunately i don’t need another 7.8” device.

The Nova Air looks nice, but has a much smaller battery than the Nova 3. Don't see any reason to upgrade my Nova 2 yet.

I'd like to see the Nova 4 get 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, like the Note 3 has now, even if the odds of that happening are slim.

I understand the internal storage part but without the slightest intention to be offensive, I'd like to ask why is more RAM necessary? Is there any program which you couldn't run on the Nova 3 right now? Games, which are the main culprit of the artificially generated requirement bumps in the phone market, are not even relevant in the e-reader market. Large .pdf files? I've never seen anything over 200MB.

Of course, the illusion of progress is nice on paper but all the e-reader manufacturers could just optimize their software for waaaay more effect than just slap more RAM in it and call it a day.

Do I need 4 GB of RAM now for any app? No, not now. However, I have a couple of apps that may benefit from the extra RAM. Secondly, extra RAM is one way to future-proof a device. Thirdly. if there is any reason why the Note should have 4 GB of RAM, the same reasoning would apply to the Nova!

Ha! Neither do I but somehow I managed to pre-order one anyway!

Maybe I should offer to sell my Nova Pro...

It looks nice, but it offers me far too little for this price.

If the structure of Wikipedia tells me anything, that 36GB is just the storage requirement consisting a lot of small .pdf files.
Any .pdf over a couple dozen MB was either a lot of individual books linked together in one file or books with a lot of really high definition pictures in them. None of these are optimal choices for a b&w 8" device.

1.: I'm actually interested about those apps, may I ask you to share them?
2.: Future proofing is never certain. Better UX (user experience with a horrible acronym) makes not just the future certainly better but the present too. Of course, finding and hiring good UX engineers and developers is much harder and more expensive than to pick the next SoC from the manufacturer's catalog and wire a little extra RAM into the board and hope that'll help. Let's even forget about the internal connects which most of the time bottleneck the entire system (between SoC<-->RAM, RAM<-->storage). Or the touch sensor which can run in a higher frame rate than the actual panel to increase touch sensitivity and precision. All of these are important of course but most of the time it's easier to headline the increased RAM.
3.: Easy product segmentation for cheap. Mystery solved.

Well, I can use Kiwix (Wikipedia) perfectly fine on a 6 inch device (Likebook P6).
And they aren't pdfs.

The .pdf part was only my guess, seems like it uses .zim files (never heard of those before) for the offline database. The result is even better if a lower end device is capable to run it too.

Annoyingly, the buttons seem to be on the "wrong" (left) side..

I wonder if it uses the new e-ink screen with better contrast. That is my main complaint about my Nova 3 - the contrast is lower than my other devices. Well, that, and the lack of physical page turn buttons (I end up using my A5 Pro most of the time, flipping pages with the volume buttons).

Oh, and great that they have a metal case for it. The plastic on the Nova 3 is horrible, sticky and looks terrible after holding it just for a short while, which necessitates the use of the cover, which is annoying to hold because the lid gets in the way..
