Just received elipsa yesterday and I do agree with everything and even more. Writing experience is worse than tablets from 10 years ago... I am giving up on pdf and epub annotation as the pen is just too thick (you can't do anything about it in the reading app, one pen thickness and one tone highlight). Not sure why those paid devs can't come up with something great like KOreader and Plato with pen functions. The device has potential but so far it is very disappointing.

I've had the opposite experience. I loved writing and annotating on my Elipsa. I found it quite responsive, and the stylus felt very comfortable to work with. Obviously, YMMV. Have you tried pairing a different Bluetooth stylus with the Elipsa. I don't how easy or not that is to do. My notebook review is extensive, perhaps too much so. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=340285 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Cootey; 07-11-2021 at 06:27 PM. |

Been using the Elipsa to read programming books, and only just discovered how well the dropbox sync works. When I've made notes or highlights to the PDF, they sync over to dropbox and show just fine in a regular PDF application. If I delete the file completely from my Kobo, move it to a new folder in dropbox and download it again, everything is still there, and I can still do things like delete my notes that I made earlier. I was expecting the experience to be much worse.
Now, if we can get auto-cropping, ability to adjust pen size, and text-based (rather than free form) highlighting, this will be perfect for me. (edit) Oh yes, and some way of easily browsing all my notes in the PDF. Last edited by alehel; 08-16-2021 at 02:21 AM. |

I'm curious. Is the inability to take notes on DRM protected PDF a limitation of the DRM? I have a few IT certification books that I would love to take notes on, but unfortunately, they are drm-protected. I noticed that in Adobe Digital Editions, there is a highlight option when I select text, but whenever I do, the program crashes.
