It seems to be the way to go. I'm pretty sure it would not be hard to get a particular BT dongle working once OTG is too.

You can recompile the kernel by going to the official sources of Kobo. You can use NickelTC for that.
(Github -> KoboLabs -> Kobo-Reader)
then hope that it'll work and flash it to the MBR
Note: you'll have to flash the uImage, not the zImage.

@Fermino: I'll try to get some sound out of the Kobo. Maybe I'll share PulseAudio via SSH (oh I see the headaches coming...) or something like that.

Any progress?

Also, apparently the new Kobo eReader has Bluetooth (hopefully audio; what else would it be? ) so we could add BT support in KoBox and/or Nickel itself.
In my mind I'm seeing the audiobook name displayed in My Books as an mp3/wav/ogg/whatever.

Will experiment with that soon, currently buildings pkgs on the Mini for KoBox and pretty busy
But sure, it'd be very nice if we could get that up and running!
