I've never had an eBook take hours to fix.
You are entitled to your opinion, Jon. Please see my previous post.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Two things

1.I enjoy tinkering with the eBooks' html
2. I like reading eBooks with my idiosyncratic styling
Same here. But the OP asked if you really could simply delete the font-size lines in the CSS and you can; like I said it's not pretty but it is usable. It can give you an idea of how little tweaking is really needed. In sigil I have a clip that I paste after deleting the original css and the main things are setting the margins, borders, and padding to 0 and the font size to 100%. After that it's simply stuff to make it more pretty.

These sections can go on for several pages at a time forcing me to "up" the text size to Kidle level 7.

Is there any way I can re-process the book in Calibre to obtain a uniform font size throughout?

Any assistance will be gratefully received!

TIA
Load the eBook in the Calibre editor. Remove unused CSS. Then look at the classes in the section that's smaller text. go to those classes in the CSS and delete the font sizes. Then you'll have the text size be the same as the rest of the body text. If the main body text also has a font size in CSS, delete that too.

That is basically what I do. But I also have a quick look at where it is used in the main text just to be so I can see if I agree that the style should be used there.
