Sam’s Club Unveils Plans to Deliver Something Special Throughout the Holiday Season

BENTONVILLE, ARK., OCT. 8, 2020 – Believe it or not, 2020 is still not over, but fortunately, the best time of the year is yet to come. That’s why Sam’s Club has been preparing all year long to help its members make the most out of the upcoming holiday season.

In a survey of its members regarding holiday shopping plans, 61 percent said they would be shopping more online this year, and 31 percent said they would be shopping earlier than past years. In response, Sam’s Club is enhancing its member shopping experience by adding more days of deals, introducing more newness, more often in clubs and online, and planning unexpected moments that delight shoppers throughout the season. And, as Sam’s Club gears up for a busy shopping season, it is hiring 2,000 supply chain associates to support the expected demand.

In recent years, Sam’s Club offered a variety of opportunities to save throughout the season, but its biggest days for holiday shopping were its One-Day Savings Events held in November and December. This year, Sam’s Club will offer a brand-new approach to holiday savings events, with events including:

• Beginning Oct. 4: October Savings Event
  
• Oct. 28 to Nov. 29: November Instant Savings
  
• Nov. 7 to Nov. 15: November Savings Event; extended from one day to nine days
  
• Nov. 20 to Nov. 29: 10 Days of Thanks-Savings; extended from four days to 10 days
  
• Nov. 30: Cyber Monday Online-Only Savings Event
  
• Dec. 1 to Dec. 24: December Instant Savings
  
• Dec. 5 to Dec. 13: December Savings Event; extended from one day to nine days

Additionally, for the first time ever and to help members better prepare for shopping Sam’s, the warehouse club will unveil all its November deals in a single savings book, mailed to members’ homes the week of Oct. 21. The deals for the December events will also be shared with members in just one book that is mailed to members’ homes in late November.

Walmart Announces “Black Friday Deals for Days,” a Reinvented Black Friday Shopping Experience

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Oct. 14, 2020 — Walmart announced last month that it is adapting to meet the evolving needs of its customers this holiday season. The biggest and most exciting shopping day of the year – Black Friday – will be no exception. That’s why today, Walmart is announcing a revamped Black Friday savings event that will deliver the incredible prices customers expect from the retailer in an entirely new way to help provide a safer and more convenient shopping experience.

Walmart will spread out its Black Friday savings this year from one single day to three events to bring customers “Black Friday Deals for Days.” This reinvented Black Friday experience will offer customers the retailer’s best prices of the season on the most sought-after items on 2020 holiday wish lists during three separate savings events across the month of November. Each savings event will begin online at Walmart.com and continue in Walmart stores. And new this year, customers will have the option to pick up their online Black Friday order through Walmart’s contact-free curbside pickup service.

Event 1

(Deals begin online Nov. 4 with new deals in stores Nov. 7): To kick-off “Black Friday Deals for Days,” Walmart will offer amazing deals on toys, electronics and home products.

Event 2

(Deals begin online Nov. 11 with new deals in stores Nov. 14): Walmart’s second event will offer techies great deals on electronics, like TVs, computers and tablets. Amazing savings on movies, music and items in apparel, hardlines, home and more will also be available.

Deals will begin online at Walmart.com on Wed., Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. ET with new deals at Walmart.com on Sat., Nov. 14 at 12 a.m. ET and in stores starting at 5 a.m. local time.

Event 3

(Deals begin online Nov. 25 with new deals in stores Nov. 27): Walmart will wrap up a month of savings with a third event that will offer great prices on even more electronics, toys and gifts across apparel and home, as well as seasonal décor favorites.

Deals will first be offered at Walmart.com on Wed., Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. ET. New deals will be available at Walmart.com at 12 a.m. ET and in stores at 5 a.m. local time on Fri., Nov. 27.

Well well well, the first official Black Friday ad dropped today and it's from Dell. Usually, Harbor Freight is the first one out of the gate. Go figure.

I'm looking for a 7.5-foot tree with color-changing lights. I bought one last year, but it had a broken wire, so I had to return it; no replacement was available. So I had to revert to my old, seen-better-days tree.

I noticed that the bfads.net site is no more--what do you consider the go-to site now for Black Friday ad scans?
