Can Kobo automatically 'connect to computer' ? - Page 2

You can manually add the [DeveloperSettings] header and then AutoUsbGadget=true under that heading. Out of the box, that header does not exist.

Code:

[DeveloperSettings]
AutoUsbGadget=true
EnableDebugServices=true

Though my personal reference is to make it a toggle in NickelMenu along with the ability to force a USB connect.

If the NickelMenu option is used, how frequently does it need to be reset (assuming that you want it permanently on)? After a reboot? On waking from sleep? Never?

(As things stand, I've gone for the option of editing my config file, because I saw that first. I'm not bothered about not being able to read while the device is charging. My charging arrangement is such that I can't read on it while it's charging anyway. I simply use another e-reader.)

Thank you! At the moment I'm not installing Nickel (I'm just trying to get the hang of having a kobo first) but I will look into it for later!

Nickel is the name of the Kobo OS. NickelMenu is the name of the app.

Once you set the settings, it stays until you change it.

Agreed. I could never plug in my Kindle while on a plane, for example, because it would autoconnect and then I couldn't read until it was charged.
