In settings/gestures.lua and settings/profiles.lua, respectively.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. This is new to me so I wanted to be sure.

Please, can anybody enlighten me about this feature? Because for now it seems to be the very same as if I set up a gesture, so as if it ran couple of commands simply. I would expect to be able to keep options customized for different persons or use cases, but it doesn't work like that.

What I would like to achieve is that in a new profile for waterproof use I would like to swicth off the tapping possibilities: no tap for menus, no tap for page turnings, and also disable long press.

Not all actions are available via gestures (eg long-press "do nothing").

Again: both profiles and gestures do the same: execute a number of actions defined by the user.

The only difference: on gestures you assign that set of actions a nice gesture. On profiles you assign that set of actions a nice name.

If you find something that should be actionable and is not present yet as something you can add to your set of actions it is because it isn't a dispatchable action.

The list of dispatchable actions

You're welcome to request a new action. See https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/7488 for instance.

But first make sure you're requesting something actionable (ie: you're able to trigger it from a menu).
