As mentioned before that's the version I'm running as a physical machine and it has not issues connecting with my Kobo ereaders using one of the USB 3 ports or using a USB C to micro-USB adapter. The other USB 3 port requires a USB 2 hub plugged into it before my Kobos are recognized. The explanation I got from Lenovo tech support was "interesting" when I asked why one port worked and the other one didn't.

Your device does not fully comply with the USB 3.1 specification.

That I mentioned it was a USB 2 device and it worked on 1 of the 2 USB 3 ports was totally disregarded.

And this was supposedly a level 2 tech support person.

What would be interesting is to see whether automount is enabled on these computers on which Kobo's are not mounting.

For what it's worth, I have automount enabled (AFAIK, it is the default setting) on all the Windows PM and VM I am using.
