But so much of what affects battery life overall is out of their hands. Charge cycles, storage temperature, etc.

I used several Kobo and none got battery issues, but they stand for a month or two, not one week. My Aura One never did better than 3 weeks, now I'm happy if I charge it after a 10 days. So I guess there's some crap running in the background that eat up the battery but I'm not sure what. Is there quality grade in those batteries?

Exactly. Better safe than sorry. Besides, multiple readers are always better!

Agreed! I use both my Forma and my KA1 and enjoy moving between them. If I had to choose one, my preference is the KA1. I know people find the lack of buttons a problem, but I'd just as soon have a simple device that lets me turn pages with a finger flick and contains no buttons.

It's certainly true that many people have good reason for wanting buttons anyway, which is why I think that Kobo would do well to keep both KA1 and Forma in play with future upgrades to each.

Actually, my response to the title was, "Yes, we are sure". It's simple:

• The Aura ONE was discontinued more than a year ago. It isn't going to be revived.
• Kobo will continue to update the firmware for a while.
• Kobo will introduce a large screen ereader without page turning buttons when the fashion swings back to not having buttons again.
• Any new large screen buttonless ereader will not be called the Aura ONE Edition 2. And it specs won't be a direct follow on (especially won't use the separate colour LEDs).

I could be wrong, and based on my history, posting the above will mean that Kobo announces an Aura ONE Edition 2 in August.

When you are composing or editing the message, the linked image only shows as it's URL wrapped in [IMG]https://superfantasydeathpool.files.wordpress.com/2016/07/cleo5.jpg?w=584&h=399[/IMG] tags.
