Thanks for the help thus far, guys. What I'm going to do today is just start over, as maybe I've done something stupid like downloading the wrong version of the firmware or something. Will keep you posted. Paul |

Must have been my own clumsiness. Anyway, second install worked fine. New firmware now in place.

I've deleted this update already. Huge battery drain on my Libra. (wifi and sync. off, no sleepcover etc) 1 hour reading on 4% light and the battery went from 88% to 62% Way too much for 1 hour reading

If it isn't too much trouble, can you send the output of running `top` and `free` through Telnet (enable it by typing devmodeon in the search, connect with "telnet your.kobo.ip" and logging in as root, disable it with devmodeoff) while the draining is happening?

I am not seeing any issues with the battery runtime on any of my devices. They are all running 4.22.15190. I've read for quite a few hours on both the Libra H2O and Clara HD and they are both fine. The others have mainly been sleeping. Again, no issues. But, it isn't uncommon for people to report high battery usage after a firmware update. Rebooting the device usually fixes this. It probably means a process was started as part of the upgrade and hung for some reason. The restart kills it. It's also not uncommon for something like this to be triggered by a particular book. Some have problems in them that when they are opened and closed leave a process behind. A reboot is needed to clear the process. And fixing the book stops the problem from happening again. |

Thanks for the replies I will keep the former update for now and maybe there is a time for another update for my device. But for now the older one works great.

@geek1011
When I go to the site to check on the Kobo firmware, I get a 404 error? Is there something wrong or did the URL change? Thanks. |

As to how to remedy it, idk unless the URL for the firmware check has his user name in plain text, and you can grab it from the aforementioned threads. |
