Sounds like the panel that is being used in the 10.3" ereaders. Sony's Digital Paper DPT-CP1 for example.

Most CAD, Engineering, Art and Architectural users that use a digitizer use a Wacom product.

But actually US$ 800M p.a. is not a mass market retail product. Only the small A5 USB sketch tablets (no screen) are cheap.

It uses an active stylus powered wirelessly from the digitizer.
