Yes, I know that may seem weird after just buying the Mars!
Well, the first question I'd suggest for you is whether the Mars does what you hoped it would do. Is it good enough for you as an ereader? If you don't like the stock ereader app, you can install your favorite Android reader app. I find that Moon Reader works well. Other folks like other apps. The Mars also has an sd card slot so you can expand internal storage. It has some optimization options that help with how other apps appear and function. It may take you a little time to find your way around!

That said, the Nova 2 is better overall. Performance, display, frontlight, its stock reader app, more ways to optimize other apps - and it feels a little lighter than the Mars. However, it costs over $300 to buy it new. Only you can decide if it's worth it for you! I am glad that I upgraded, and my stimulus money got deposited into my checking account just in time to help me pay for it!

If you don't need Android 9, you may be able to find a first edition Nova or Nova Pro used. That could save you some money.

So, if you like the Mars, there's no reason why you shouldn't stay with it. You might find other uses for the money you'll save by not buying the Nova 2! But, if
you feel a need for a little more performance or something else, and you can afford it, you can go for the Nova. But if I were you, I'd spend more time with the Mars first and see if it works for you.
