That's the idea, except a log rotation threw a wrench in my plans ;p.

Can you try again right after the JB hotfix install? (i.e., emergency zip, reboot, JB hotfix, ;dm).

Ok, in the name of science!

I copied the emergency zip contents to root of the kindle and rebooted.
Then rebooted
Copied the JB hotfix and used UYK
Once the UYK completed, I ran ;dm immediately and here the files are.

Okay, now I see the JB hotfix failing with a U007, so, at least stuff makes sense now ^^.

TL;DR: Not quite sure why you have ;log mostly working but no JB key, but that's not the first time, so, eh, let's blame it on an old, buggy bridge :/.

I'm hoping if I do get either the forma or the libra, it's easier to do the screensaver than it is on kindle. Not sure which yo go for, but I'm looking for a decent one similar to the original oasis.

However, your assistance has been wonderful, even if we cannot resolve it. I do not know if there is a way to thank you on the forums outside of just writing my thanks.

What's on the screen when the device goes to sleep should not matter as you will hardly ever see it. With a sleep cover, you close the cover and don't see the screen and when you open the cover, you still don't really eee the image before it goes.

Okay, last attempt, for real this time ;p.

Try unpacking this at the USB root, then run ;log r in the search bar.

Plug it back in again, the four files from the zip should now be gone.
If they're still there, eject & unplug, then restart the device (and check again, if they're still there, you can give up now, the rest won't work).

Then try installing the JB hotfix. Then if that works, the KUAL hotfix.

You may also try to install that via MRPI (via ;log mrpi) after a reboot, if the hotfixes didn't pan out.

Well, looks like it's bad news sadly.
I unpacked the file in the root and ran the command and all four files had vanished, which was good.

I tried the JB hotfix, but got a 007 response when trying to run UYK,

So I tried using ;log mrpi to install things and it's the same as before.

Was that after a reboot (for MRPI, I mean. UYK *should* behave without a reboot. But it might not.)?

Aye, it was after a restart, but I've just done another for good measure,

Put the hotfix for JB and KUAL and used ;log mrpi

Result was:

I don't s'pose there is a way to manually put the screensavers hack on without going through KUAL etc? The device was originally jalbroken afterall?

What you can try is to unpack the previous zip again, and skip straight to a Reboot (i.e., don't run ;log r).

Then try the hotfix via UYK again, or the bridge via mrpi after another reboot.

Logs will be useful, as always

EDIT: I'd also update MRPI like in #2 instead of the mangled version I gave you later, just for good measure
