They used to in their early days, but now all the surviving BBC episodes have been officially released on DVD, they no longer do, to avoid annoying anyone at the BBC. Even though what they do is legally dubious (the soundtracks are copyrighted material, after all), the BBC are willing to turn a blind eye (and even lend a helping hand) provided they play by certain "unwritten rules".

To Harry or anyone else that would know...

Can you recommend any original 1st Doctor novels (not novelizations) that wouldn't act as spoilers for someone just starting season 2? I was looking for something to give my son. Can be ebook, paperback or even OOP. Doesn't matter.

I tried looking around, but with such a vast series it's difficult to figure out even with a reading guide... Thanks...
