As has already been said by previous posters, I also don't have anything against a simplified, "modern" UI as long as it's a choice. NO permanent, non-user-configurable UI redesigns, please. It's not clear if the OP meant to ditch the list view entirely in the interests of simplification, but if so, that would be a major catastrophe in the view of many, many users.
That said, this thread is half a year old now and the OP hasn't been back since. As they said they weren't interested in modifications or themes, but only in complete redesign, I don't think they will be back any time soon. |

Sorry about the rant.
Yes, real choice is the most important aspect. Not fads inflicted by marketing or graphics people with no options other than colouring some elements. Win 9x, NT4.0, Win 2K, XP you could install genuine themes that weren't just colour changes. As you can on many versions of Linux today. You can even edit a theme and mix / match or do from scratch. Choice. |
