K4 Kindle 4 KUAL Issue

OK, here we go:

Factory reset kindle, sync'd with amazon, checked time (no date feature) deleted all crud off it, put it in airplane mode.

Rooted with kindle-k4-jailbreak-1.8.N-r16252, copied files & folder, updated kindle

MKK - copied Update_mkk-20141129-k4-ALL_install.bin and updated kindle

KUAL - copied KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 to /documents

Opened KUAL document, got error message. Waited 30 seconds, tried again, same error message

Sorry, back again. Had some members of family pass away unexpectedly so have had to become a part time carer.

Since the last post, I've reset my kindle and followed through everything identical. I did notice one thing, the KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 & KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2 in the archive file are identical sizes.

Anyway, on my screen, I see my documents, the 'You are Jailbroken' one, and 'KUAL ixtab NiLuje twobob stepk' displayed

Is there a way I can clear the log file, as it's become a silly size with all kinds of crud on?

They're rotated automatically (quite aggressively, in fact).

Hopefully, I've uploaded the log file properly - it was over 2mb, trimmed back to a few days ago

@Tired: You still have a KUAL Booklet installed.

Thankyou for coming back, I ran the uninstall bin file, and

IT WORKS!!

I don't even remember installing the bin file at all, must have done it subconsciously

Going to install KOReader next

I had the exact same issue here. Just copied the azw2 file but got the booklet failure log. I copied the uninstall bin file and updated and then it worked. Could the booklet be included and installed accidentally by some other bin file?

Had exactly the same error for weeks. Uninstall.bin on KUAL also worked for me! obviously tried the booklet preivously without thinking.. weird that a factory reset didnt clear it?!

Had exactly the same error too.

Did not install the bin file, but just did Uninstall.bin

KUAL worked

Just to confirm: My experience was like fanium's. Had the same error and am pretty sure I never installed the bin, but the Uninstall.bin worked and KUAL could be installed afterwards.

Installed kindle-mkk-20141129-r16572. That seemed to install without any issues - I didn't see any errors.

Installed KUAL-v2.7.21-g3928582-20190724.

I see the KUAL book in my library, I run it, and get:

An error occured:Main class instantiation threw a RuntimeException. Please contact the developer.


Reading this can happen on the first run, I waited 30 secs and run again, got the same message. I've checked the folder structure of the kit, and don't see the extensions folder from what I've read.

I re-run kindle-mkk-20141129-r16572 just to make sure, didn't do much though.

At the moment, I've done another factory reset and left the kit as it is as wasn't too sure what else to try

Just install this file Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7.37_uninstall.bin and it should work just fine
(Copy the file to the kindle root and click update your kindle from setting)
